TELL ME MORE : GENERAL INFORMATION

If you’d like to join us online and in space, if you have a message you’d like to share with the world, if you’d like to support education and research at MIT and Georgia Tech, or if you’d just like some more information about what we’re up to – then you’ve come to the right place!

To reserve your spot on the spacecraft, please go to TELL ME MORE: COMPANIES, or TELL ME MORE: INDIVIDUALS.

To find out more about us, read on below! And if you have a question for us, you can email us at info@yournameintospace.org.

The Team

We’re a group of students at MIT and Georgia Tech, looking for ways to share the excitement of space exploration with the world AND launch our spacecraft at the same time. We’re here to offer you a tax-deductible way to share your message or inspiration with the world, or surprise a loved one with a unique and memorable gift.

What can I put on the spacecraft?

You can put family photos, logos, slogans, signatures, and other pictures and messages on the spacecraft and on our website.

How Y*N*I*S Works

In return for a donation to support development of our spacecraft, you can put pictures, logos, slogans, signatures, and other messages on our website and on our satellite. As the satellite orbits the Earth, we’ll snap photos of your image or message with the Earth floating in the background. If you choose to place a message on the part of the satellite that is returning to Earth, then we will send you the actual space hardware with your picture or message. Put it on your desk, on your wall, give it as a gift – display it as you see fit!

So the question is  - what message do you want the world to see?

And remember to secure your portion of the spacecraft early – prices will rise!

Top Benefits of Participating

  1. If you wish, your name and/or MIT approved content will be featured on the Current Sponsors page. This page will remain online at least until July 2011. Individuals and organizations making bigger transactions are featured more prominently.
  2. Before, during and after the mission we expect you will be able to download photographs of your signature, photo or other content on the spacecraft.
  3. All transactions are tax-deductible; the spacecraft is a non-profit university-led scientific research mission.
  4. Your spot on the spacecraft is a tax-deductible way to support valuable research and education.

Please remember that the satellite is an MIT experiment, and we cannot guarantee that the photography or landing and recovery will be successful. We are doing our very best though!

You will be able to change your image twice, with the final change approximately 10 months prior to launch. Currently, launch is slated for 2010.

Participate soon: as more square centimeters are filled, price points will increase.
